A Calm Place

October 14, 2013

A Calm PlaceI’ve just returned from a few short days away where I visited one of my favorite places, a quiet preserve in Maine. Walking through the fairy forest, breathing in the balsam, catching the sidelong glances of light shimmering here and not there, then arriving at the water to sit on a rock and watch the sun go down. Ahhhh…

Back in my office, I’m calling back these sights and sounds and smells and soft, wide moments even as I sit staring into a computer monitor.

How can we call on our special places – those places that bring us calm and peace and that feeling of being at home – into our every day lives? How can we call on them to ground and nourish us even when we’re under pressure.

I will be sharing more about this, and how to call on this support when you’re in the spotlight, in a future post. Meanwhile, here’s a few seconds of my favorite place: sound and motion of water lapping against the rocks on the Maine coast.  Enjoy the quickest excursion ever!
